Series 6: Oliver Sarmonte l "Creative Recycling"

Using ideas drawn from engineering, Oliver can make any objects (amazing children’s toys, of course) from plastic recycling to show us how art and design can be more than just something to hang on the wall. As a Filipino native, Oliver learned early the art of creative recycling.
Aspiring to finish his engineering course when he immigrated to Canada in 1991, he ends up working as a counselor while making the art of creative recycling.

Mexican native Davide Merino, a contemporary artist of Vancouver, holds a degree in Architecture from National University (UNAM) as well as a Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University. His artwork blends Mexican elements to portray his themes of man’s journey through life as an immigrant.

Series 1: Megha Ratna Shakya l "Non-Violent Communication Workshop"

Megha Ratna Shakya, a renowned nonviolent communication trainer, provided the unique and interactive workshop designed to encourage compassionate connection and collaboration through experiential activities. In this workshop we learned to develop connections with children and parents and practical communication techniques which can be put to use immediately in school, home or professional and personal environments. Tibetan Singing Bowl music was a bonus, too!!
